Prison Empire Tycoon is a simulation game offered by Codigames. It has more than ten million downloads on the Play Store. Upgrade your prison departments & security, hire staff, fulfill prisoners’ needs, reform the prisoners and earn money to become a prison tycoon.
Gameplay
In this game, you will start managing a small prison. After a regular interval of time, new prisoners will be brought in the prison. Every prisoner will fill the forms at the admission area and then be escorted to a cell by the guard. This is an automatic process. What you need to do is build new cells, upgrade the cells & other departments to upgrade the prison’s security. You have to fulfill all the prisoners’ needs to keep them under control. You will get money for every prisoner. Use that money to hire staff and upgrade facilities. When a certain number of prisoners serve their sentence and are reformed, a new prison will unlock for you to manage and earn more money.
Prisoners Stats
There are 6 prisoner stats: Hunger, Hygiene, Health, Entertainment, Comfort & Security. When these stats go down, prisoners’ stress level increases from green to red. When it reaches red, they can go wild and start a riot. You can see a dot on each prisoner which shows the stress level. Take care of prisoners to keep their stress level green by upgrading various departments.
Departments
Admission Area, Cells, Dining Hall, Kitchen, Guards’ Room, Prison Yard, Bathroom, these are the departments you will upgrade in the game. Each department is important for the prisoners’ needs. Upgrading these departments not only fulfill the needs but also decrease the processing time of various tasks. Upgrade the cells to increase the entertainment, hygiene & comfort attributes. Upgrade kitchen to reduce the hunger time of prisoners. Upgrading the guards’ room will increase the security, guards’ HP & speed. In the prison yard, they can play & do other outdoor activities. It provides good entertainment. You also need to upgrade your generators and water pumping station for electricity and water.
Staff & Managers
You need staff to keep to do various task in the prison. You can hire builders to build cells, infirmary or laundry rooms. They will get less time to build something if you have more builders. To keep the prisoners in check, escort them to cells, and stop the running prisoners, you need guards. If you have less number of guards than the prisoners, the security level will drop. Hire more cooks to cook food and distribute to multiple prisoners at the same time. It decreases the time to cook and serve the prisoners. There are also managers you can hire to increase the profit. Hire an offline time manager to manage the prison when you go offline and financial manager to increase the earning money.
Resources
Money and gems are the main resources used in the game. With the gems, you can buy chests from the shop. Money is required to build & upgrade everything in the prison. You can get money by completing the missions. You will get money from the state on three occasions: when a new prisoner comes, a fixed amount of money for each prisoner per hour and when they serve their sentence & leave the prison. You can see the profit you earn on the top left side of the screen.
