You work in a corporate company in the city that sucked the life out of you with the same routine every day and nothing new to do that can give you something fresh air to your soul. But one day, you receive a letter informing you that your grandfather has passed away. He left behind a farm in the Stardew Valley that is now yours.

You escape from your corporate job and move to the Stardew Valley to inherit the farm. But the farm is neglected, full of bushes, trees, weeds, and overgrown grasses. Your main objective is to restore the overgrown farm to its former glory by learning farming, raising animals, and clearing the surroundings.

But that’s not all. You can meet the people from the village, interact with them, befriend them, gift them, participate in their events, and also complete their quests. It also deepens your relationship with them. The game also offers you two different paths which affect many things like events, quests, storyline, and your relationship with others.

Grow a Varieties of Crops

It features a wide variety of crops that you can grow in the game. Each season has its own unique set of crops that allows you to farm crops strategically to maximise the profit. You can grow kale, strawberries, cauliflowers, green beans, parsnips, potatoes, etc. in the spring, and blueberries, corn, hops, melons, radishes, sunflowers, etc. in the summer. The fall season offers the amaranth, artichoke, beet, bok choy, etc. crop choices to grow from. Each crop has a different growing period and selling price. Fast-growing crops like tomatoes can be harvested multiple times within the same season.

Explore and Discover the Secrets of the Valley

As you progress in the Stardew Valley, you will uncover hidden areas like mysterious caves, secret woods, the Calico desert, etc. Each location offers unique resources, challenges, and storylines. But it won’t be easy to find those hidden areas. You will need observation and problem-solving skills. Also, you will need special tools & items, and sometimes, need to complete special events to get a hind of hidden locations.

Build Relationships with the Town Folks

There are many unique characters with different stories & personalities. You can talk to them to know more about them and complete their quests. Giving them gifts and participating in their events can increase your friendship with them. As your friendship grows, their special events will be unlocked. They also share exclusive recipes & items and give discounts when buying items from their shops.

As each character has a different personality, they also have different interests, likes and dislikes. So, you have to keep in mind what you are gifting them. If you gift them something they don’t like, then your friendship level with them can decrease. You can pay attention to their dialogues to learn what they like.

Meet the Special Someone & Start Your Family

Stardew Valley has 12 potential marriage candidates. Once you reach a high friendship level with certain characters, you can engage in a romantic relationship with them. Then you can progress the relationship by giving them specific gifts, engaging in romantic conversation, and completing specific quests. Then you can propose a special one and marry her. It also unlocks a special room in your house and you & your wife will have shared income. You can also have children.

Multiple Control Options

It offers mainly three control schemes – touch-screen, virtual joystick, and external controller. In the touch-screen scheme, tapping at any place on the screen will move your character there. The virtual joystick scheme shows virtual analog on the screen to move your character. It is customizable. You can adjust the size, transparency and position of the buttons & analog. It also supports the external controller. If you love playing games with the controller, then you can connect it and play this game. It includes the settings to configure the buttons too.
