Don’t Starve: Pocket Edition is an adventure-survival game offered by Klei Entertainment Inc. It has more than a million downloads on the Play Store. Survive on a mysterious island full of monsters & dangers using your science and magic skills.
Story
Wilson is a great scientist. He makes a machine from the knowledge he got from someone mysterious. When he starts the machine, some shadows come out from everywhere and traps him. When he opens his eyes, he finds himself on an island. How he got there is a mystery. The island is full of monsters and very dangerous especially at night. Scary monsters wander the island and attack anyone at night. You must find a way to survive here and a way to go home.
Gameplay
In this game, you will find yourself on an island. You will have to survive on it by collecting resources like grass, branches, seeds and crafting various items necessary for survival. On day 1, you will be able to craft some tools like pickaxe, axe & hammer with branches and stone. Use the axe to cut down trees & pickaxe to break down the rocks. As the time goes on, your hunger level will drop. Explore the island, find food like berries, seeds, carrot or make traps and capture animals to eat them. Build structures to survive the night. Because at night, monsters come out. If you are in the open, then you are dead meat.
Controls
The controls are simple. It has a virtual joystick on the bottom left side of the screen to move the character. On the right side of the screen, it shows your HP, Hunger level & time on the top and punch, hand & map button on the bottom. You can tap the hand button to pick objects and punch button to attack or break objects. Tap and hold on the items to open the menu. You can also simply objects on the island to move there and perform actions without using the hand & punch button. The choice is yours.
Game Modes
It comes with three game modes. Each mode has a different difficulty level and content on the island.
Classic
In classic mode, the difficulty level is normal. It has original settings for all the content like weather, monsters, day, etc. You will experience everything at a standard rate.
No Sweat
If you are a rookie and don’t want high difficulty, you can play no sweat mode. In this mode, the difficulty level is set to low. Many monsters will not spawn in it. Your hunger drop rate and HP loss rate is decreased.
