GRIS is an adventure game offered by DevolverDigital. Go on a journey with a girl who has lost her voice, refill her world with the colors and help her get her voice back.
Story
Gris is a cheerful girl who loves to sing. One day, she was in the hands of a big statue of a woman and was singing. But suddenly she lost her voice, the status crumbled and its hands broke into pieces and she fell down into a world where not a single color is present. Everything is colorless. It’s a world inside her soul. She explores this world to bring all the colors back and regain the ability to sing.
Gameplay
In this game, you will play as that girl, Gris. You will explore the colorless world. There will be floating stone, broken ruins in the first chapter. You can jump on them to go forward. You will find some lights that you have to collect. Just touch the lights and it will follow you. These lights are necessary to bring the color back in this colorless world. There will also be many broken paths and these lights will form the path by constellations. You can see how many lights you need to form that path. There are no monsters, HP or any other stats in the game. It is based on exploring the world and gathering all the lights.
Abilities
In the beginning, you have no ability except running and jumping. You will gain new abilities in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th chapter. To unlock new abilities, you have to collect 2 lights. First ability is to turn your dress into a heavy block that will not be blown away with the storm. This ability is also used to break the ground below you to make a path. Second ability is the double jump. You can also glide when holding the button a second time. Third ability is to swim underwater. You can tap on the right side of the screen to dash in the water.
Forest Friends
In the third chapter, Forest, you will see a creature who will run away from you. But later, it starts following you from a distance. When you go near it, it goes underground. You will see some apples in the forest. Feed the apples to it and it will become your friend. It will also help you and show you secret passages in the forest.
