Alto’s Odyssey is an action game and the sequel of Alto’s Adventure offered by Noodlecake Studios Inc. It has more than ten millions of downloads on the play store. Go on the sandboarding journey with Alto and his friends in a vast desert and discover the new biomes.
Gameplay
In this game, you will sandboard in a majestic desert. You need to jump to avoid collision with rocks and falling in chasm. Perform stunt combos to earn more points and charge your scarf. It’s an endless sand boarding but there are also levels to give you challenges you can complete. Level includes many missions to complete like cover a certain distance, jump over 3 rocks etc. You can change characters, use gadgets and play Zen mode. In Zen mode, there are no coins, gadgets and scores. Just an endless dessert to explore. If you fall down from your board, simply tap to continue sandboarding from there.
Controls
Controls are very easy. You can easily learn but mastering them is a challenge. You need good timing to perform backflips. If you land on your head, it will be game over. And also jumping from the ramp and rock walls requires good timing. As for the controls, tap on the screen to jump and hold to perform backflip. If there is a rock wall behind you, tap and holding will perform a wall walk. Jump on the rock to perform a jump bounce. Timing is very important for it. If you jump a little early, you will fall down.
Gadgets
There are many gadgets spawn in the desert. Picking the gadgets grants you some power-ups depending on the type. Pick a magnet to attract all the coins. Lotus flower provides you a shield for a duration that destroys all rocks in your way and also protects you from wrong positioned backflips. On using the Mysterious radio, pots fall from the sky which contains coins or gadgets. Wingsuit lets the character fly in the sky. But you need to charge the scarf first with stunt combobs. Then a button will appear on the left side to use wingsuit. These gadgets are unlocked in the workshop from the starting. But you need to buy the mysterious radio & wingsuit first. Next gadget is a sandboard that unlocks when you reach the canyons after 2500m distance. Purchase it and you will be able to ride the rock walls. Last gadget is a Compass. It’s available to buy after you discover the temples and allows you to reach any biomes.
Biomes
It features 3 biomes with unique visuals & challenges. You start in the dunes which have a dry climate and simple landscape. When you travel 2500 meters, you reach the second biome – Canyons. The Canyon has more walls and you can also ride the walls with the sandboard. And the last biome is the temple which is 2500 meters after the canyons. You will sandboard in the vines & waterfalls area. The climate also changes from time to time like lightning, rainstorm, tornados, sunny days and dark nights.
