Candy Crush Saga is a match-3, puzzle, and casual game offered by King. It has more than a billion downloads on the Play Store with a 4.6 rating out of 5. It’s also the #1 game in the top-grossing casual games. 

Gameplay

It’s a match-3 game. In it, thousands of levels will challenge your skills & thinking. On a level, there will be candies of multiple colors like red, yellow, blue, green, purple, etc. You will have to match 3 or more candies in a row that will remove those candies from the board and the upper candies will take their place. 

By doing the same, you will have to achieve the goals to clear the level. There will be different goals for each level. For instance, clear 20 blue candies, break all frosty blocks, collect ingredients, score certain points, etc. Also, keep an eye on your moves as you will get a limited number of moves to clear the level. 

On a level, you can get up to 3 stars for clearing it. It will depend on your score. When you clear candies, you get scores. The more candies you clear in a  single move, the more score you will get. To can create special candies and form combos to get higher scores and clear the level quicker. 

When you clear the level, all your remaining moves will convert into sugar crush, converting the candies into special candies to further increase your score. You can see your score and the required score for 3 stars on the score bar in the top left corner. 

Special Candies & Their Effects

You can create three types of special candies by matching more than 3 candies in a certain shape. And when you can match these special candies, they don’t only clear the matched candies, but also perform amazing area effects to clear more candies. In the subsection below, the formation conditions and their effects are written.

Special Candies Formation & Effects

Striped Candy – Match 4 candies of the same color to create a striped candy. The direction of the striped candy will be the direction of your last swipe during matching 4 candies. When triggered, it clears the candies of a whole row or column based on its direction.

Wrapped Candy – Match 5 candies of the same color in a T or L shape to create a wrapped candy. When triggered, it clears all its neighboring candies in a 3×3 square. 

Color Bomb – Match 5 candies of the same color in a row or column to create a color bomb. You can swap it with any colored candy. When swapped, it clears all the candies of that color from the board.

Special Candy Combos Effects

You can also combine two special candies to create powerful effects which are as follows:

2 Striped Candies – Combining the two striped candies will clear all the candies from their row and column.

Striped Candy + Wrapped Candy – It will clear all the candies from the 3 rows and columns.

2 Wrapped Candies – Combining two wrapped candies will create a powerful explosion in a 5×6 area, clearing all the candies. And then it will explode again, clearing all the candies in a 5×6 area. 

Color Bomb + Special Candy – Combining a color bomb with a special candy will, first, convert all the matched-color candies into that special candy. And then all the converted special candies will be triggered and will perform their effects. 

2 Color Bomb – Combining two color bombs will clear all the candies from the board. 

MOD Version of Candy Crush Saga

Unlimited Lives – With this feature, you can retry the levels as many times as you want. You don’t have to wait for lives to replenish like the official version. You will never run out of lives in this version no matter how many times you lose the level. 

Unlimited Moves – Most of the time, we lose the level because we run out of the moves in the official game. But in this version, we can keep playing the level until the level clears no matter how many moves we use. 

All Levels Unlocked – All the levels are unlocked. You can play at any level.

Unlimited Boosters – It has pre-level boosters and in-level boosters unlimited. You can use as many boosters as you want.

Bomb Counter 99 – At higher levels, there will be bombs with numbers on them. If you don’t clear it by matching the matching candies near it within the number count, it will explode and you will lose the match. But there’s no need to worry about it in this version. The bomb counter is increased to 99 so that you can easily clear it.
