Gameplay
It’s a match-3 puzzle game. In it, there are candies of different colors on the game board. You have to match 3 or more candies of the same color to remove them from the board. The candies above those removed candies will take their place and more new candies will come at the top. If during the replacing, 3 or more candies match, they will be removed automatically. You can also create special candies with matching candies in many different formations. In this way you have to complete the given objectives like achieve a certain score, collection ingredient etc.
Special Candies
There are many formations in which you can match candies to create special candies. These special candies have unique abilities. Basic special candies are striped candy, wrapped candy and color bomb. These candies can be created by matching candies in a certain formation.
Match 4 candies of the same color to create striped candy. Striped candy clear the complete row or column. It depends on its type if it’s horizontal striped candy or vertical. You can create wrapped candies by matching the candies of the same color in L or T shape that explode twice on activation cleaning 8 candies around it both times. To create a color bomb, match 5 candies. You don’t need to match 3 candies to activate the color bomb. Just swipe it with any candy, and it will clear all candies of that color from the board.
Objectives
All the levels don’t have the same objective. There are many types of objectives to complete the levels. Achieve a certain score in limited moves, break all the jellies, chocolates & blockers, collect ingredients are some of the objectives you have to complete in order to clear the level. There can be levels with mix objectives. As you proceed to higher levels, difficulties will rise as well. There are candy bombs with counts that will explode if you don’t remove it from that candy from the board before the count reaches 0. The count will decrease with each move. Boosters
There are two types of boosters in this game. First type boosters can only be used before the level and second can only be used during the level. First type boosters include jellyfish, color bomb, coconut wheel and striped & wrapped booster. When using a color bomb and striped & wrapped booster, your level will start with one of these special candies on the board. Using jellyfish and coconut wheels will spawn the jellyfish candy & coconut wheel on the board. Activating the jellyfish will summon 3 fish to remove any 3 random candies or jellies. And coconut wheel will roll in the swiping direction and clears all the candies in its way.
Second type boosters include Lollipop Hammer, Extra Moves, Free Switch, Extra Time, UFO, Striped Brush, Part Popper Booster and many more. When using a Free Switch booster, you can swap any two adjacent candies no matter what the colors are. With Lollipop Hammer, you can destroy any one candy. Use the Striped brush to convert any candy into striped candy.
Resource
Lives and gold bars are the resource in Candy Crush Saga. Lives are the most important resource. You can’t play any level without life. Upto 5 lives can be stored. If you are unable to complete any level, one life will be deducted. It takes 30 minutes to refill one life. So if you lose all your lives, then you have to wait for half an hour to play again. Gold bars are used to buy boosters. You can also refill lives with gold bars. With 69 gold bars, you can buy unlimited lives for 6 hours.
