Gardenscapes is a casual & match-3 puzzle game offered by Playrix. It has more than hundred million downloads on the Play Store. Solve the puzzles and restore all the garden areas of your new mension.
Story
The story is about you living in a city full of people, crowds, traffic & pollution. You always wanted to leave the city and live in a more peaceful place with a garden & chirping birds. One day, you got a letter and it said that you inherited a mansion with an awesome garden. But when you got there, you saw that the garden was completely abandoned and there were no flowers. Now it’s up to you to restore every area of that garden.
Gameplay
In this game, you have to restore the garden by completing tasks one by one. Austin will guide you through all the areas of the garden and tell you what you need to do. You can check the tasks on the tablet from the bottom left corner. To complete a task, you need stars. You have to complete the match-3 puzzle levels to get stars. For each level, you will get one star. Match 3 or more pieces of the same color to remove them from the board. Achieve the objectives by matching & clearing the pieces to complete a level. There are so many objectives such as clearing a certain amount of pieces, collecting gnomes etc. As you go to higher levels, more difficult objectives you will get.
Power-ups
There are various power-ups in the levels you can create by matching a certain number of pieces. You can use these power-ups to speed things up. You can either swap the power-up with an adjacent piece or double-tap it to activate it.
Firecracker – You can create a firecracker by matching 4 pieces of the same color. Using a firecracker will clear all the adjacent pieces.
Bomb – A Bomb will clear all the pieces in a radius of 2 blocks. You can create it by matching 5 same pieces.
Dynamite – A dynamite has a range of 3 blocks radius. It will clear all the pieces in this range. Matching 6 pieces of the same color will create it.
TNT – Match 7 pieces of the same color to create a TNT. It will clear all the pieces in the radius of 4 blocks.
Rainbow Blast – Rainbow blast is a chargeable power-up. You can’t create it by matching pieces. To create it, you have to use other power-ups to charge its bar. When it charges completely, it will spawn on the board at random position. You can swap with adjacent pieces to clear the pieces of that color from the board.
Boosters
There are two types of boosters: in-level and pre-level. Pre-level boosters can only be selected before starting the level while in-level boosters can only be selected & used during the level. Boosters are limited in numbers but you can buy them with gold. Using a booster doesn’t count as a move.
In-level Boosters
You can use these boosters anytime in the level.
Shovel – With the shovel, you can remove any one piece from the board.
Rake – Using a rake will clear all the pieces of a row and column.
Gardening Glove – With the gardening glove, you can swap any two adjacent pieces even if they don’t make any match.
Pre-level Boosters
There are 3 pre-level boosters: 2 Bombs, Rainbow Blast and “Rainbow Blast & Bomb”. Using any of these boosters will start the level with the same power-ups written in the names.
