Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells is a match-3 puzzle game offered by Zynga. It has more than ten millions of downloads on the play store. Go on the epic journey with Harry Potter and his friends and solve puzzles to unlock & upgrade your magic skills.
Gameplay
In this game, you will see Harry Potter and his friends on their journey from home to Hogwards, learning magic skills & abilities. You will help them on every event from the start by solving the match-3 puzzles. To clear the levels, you need to complete the targets like collect gems of specific color, tickets, blocks, frogs or ice blocks etc. As you clear puzzle levels, new skills will unlock. Play more levels, complete events to upgrade the skills. You can also unlock creatures by collecting cards and completing the albums.
Power-ups
There are 4 types of power-ups you can create by matching a certain number of gems in the levels: Severing surge, bombastic bomb, winged key & charmed bag. First three power-ups can be selected before starting the level to start the levels with these power-ups. Here is the explanation how you can create these power-ups and what they will do.
Severing Surge – Match 4 gems of the same color in a row or column to create this power-up. Double-up it or swap with adjacent gems to activate it. It will clear an entire row or column’s gems. It’s direction will depend on your last move swipe.
Bombastic Bomb – Match 5 gems in “L” or “T” to create the bombastic bomb power-up. It explodes twice, destroying all the gems in 3×3 sqaure both times.
Winged Key – Match 4 gems in a square (2×2) to create this power-up. Swap it or double-tap it to active it. It will clear all adjacent gems and then fly to a random place & clear the piece. It prioritizes the gems or other pieces which are required to clear the level.
Charmed Bag – Match 5 gems in a row or column to create a charmed bag. Swap it with any adjacent gem to clear all the gems of that color on the board.
Boosters
You can use the boosters from inside the level. There are 4 boosters which are as follows:
Magic Strike – It will remove any selected gems from the board.
Severing Surge – Use it to clear all the gems of any row.
Destructive Surge – Using it will clear all the gems of the selected column.
Obliterate – Select it and then tap any gem. It will clear all the gems of that color from the board.
Creatures
Unlock different kinds of creatures in the game to take them with you in the levels. Creatures have unique abilities. Complete the levels to collect stars. You can open a star pack on collecting 8 stars. In a star pack, you will get 3 cards. You need to complete the album by collecting all its cards to unlock the creature. You can also buy card packs with gold. Each creature has 2 unique abilities. Use power-ups in the levels to fill the creature ability meter. When the meter fills completely, you can use its ability in the level.
